I. Purpose and Objectives
Midocean University is committed to managing and reducing carbon emissions through the adoption of innovative strategies and technologies aimed at minimizing the environmental impact of its operations and activities. These commitments include improving energy efficiency, supporting investment in low-carbon energy sources, and applying environmentally friendly standards across all University facilities and future projects.
Accordingly, Midocean University has achieved reliance on e-learning of up to 90% in order to implement sustainability standards and apply the Carbon Management Policy.
II. Scope
This Policy applies to:
- All buildings and facilities on the University campus.
- In-person events, gatherings, and seminars.
- Graduation ceremonies and conferences.
III. Core Policy Provisions
- Achieve an annual reduction in carbon dioxide emissions through sustainable and well-planned initiatives.
- Enhance investment in low-carbon energy sources to support the transition toward advanced levels of sustainability.
- Improve energy efficiency in university buildings and facilities to reduce energy consumption and carbon
- Raise awareness among students and employees regarding the importance of reducing carbon emissions and their impact on the environment.
- Enhance the quality of online education in a manner that contributes to reducing transportation and associated carbon emissions.
IV. Digital Protection Measures
Given the University’s reliance on an e-learning system, the following mechanisms shall be implemented:
- Conduct awareness campaigns for students and employees on the importance of reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
- Enhance students’ and employees’ awareness of how modern technologies can be used for carbon management, reducing emissions, and minimizing environmental impacts.

- Implement carbon emission management procedures and monitor their implementation.
VI. Performance Indicators
- Annual percentage reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.
- Number of emission reduction initiatives.
- Percentage of investments directed toward low-carbon energy sources.
VII. Review and Updates
This Policy shall be reviewed annually, or as required, taking into consideration the results of the performance indicators, developments in carbon management practices, relevant legislation, and feedback received from the University’s departments and relevant stakeholders.
