I. Purpose and Objectives
Midocean University is committed to managing hazardous waste in a safe and responsible manner and to implementing best practices for the handling and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with approved environmental standards, thereby ensuring the safety of the University community and the surrounding environment.
II. Scope
This Policy applies to:
- All buildings and facilities on the University campus.
- In-person events, gatherings, and seminars.
- Graduation ceremonies and conferences.
III. Definitions
- Hazardous Waste: Any waste that may adversely affect the environment during the course of its disposal, including toxic substances, radioactive materials, non-recyclable materials, and any other materials classified as hazardous in accordance with the standards of the relevant international health and safety organizations and authorities.
IV. Core Policy Provisions
- Ensure the safe and sustainable disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
- Minimize the impact of hazardous waste on the environment and public health through effective and comprehensive waste management.
- Promote awareness and proper practices among university employees and students regarding the handling of hazardous waste.
V. Digital Protection Measures
Given the University’s fully digital nature, specialized measures shall be applied:
- Conduct awareness campaigns for students and employees on the importance of hazardous waste management.
- Enhance students’ and employees’ awareness of how modern technologies can be leveraged to improve hazardous waste disposal practices.

- Implement hazardous waste management and disposal procedures in accordance with the approved regulations.
VII. Performance Indicators
- Percentage of hazardous waste disposed of through safe disposal methods.
VIII. Review and Updates
This Policy shall be reviewed annually, or as required, taking into consideration the results of the performance indicators, relevant environmental legislation, and feedback received from the University’s departments and other relevant stakeholders.
